4 steps to your fully connected production logistics
The complexity of production logistics is constantly increasing; materials and goods must be transported to their destinations faster and faster. This can only happen successfully with production logistics 4.0 – a fully connected cycle that includes both the production line and all (intra-)logistics processes. But how to get there? Our four-step plan will help you out!
1. Define the material flow
In the first step, define all material flows and document them if you have not done so already. Production is supplied accordingly. However, standardized processes are not yet considered. At this point, no potential for improvement has been realized.
2. Lean management
The next step is to standardize the material flows. Identify and establish reproducible processes in accordance with lean management. This allows you to optimize your processes gradually, leading to significantly increased efficiency.
3. Digitalization
Once the basis for the reliable use of digitalization solutions is created, you can employ suitable solutions to create transparency as to what material and transport requirements exist at any given time. These solutions also form the data basis for comprehensive intralogistics connectivity.
4. Connectivity
Based on digitalization, intelligent software solutions can use algorithms to further optimize material flows and help increase efficiency. They calculate the ideal routes based on the actual material requirements of production. This results in self-organized material flows that ensure timely delivery and the optimum utilization of transport vehicles. In addition, they establish transparency across all incoming and outgoing bookings in the supermarkets.
Optimize your production logistics with our four-step approach: from the basic definition of material flows to the implementation of lean management principles and digitalization. Finally, the integration of intelligent software solutions enables further optimization of material flows, leading to increased efficiency and transparency in intralogistics.
